01 / THE PROJECT

We were not born to take part, but to build something that did not yet exist.

BIG TEAM INN is an Italian racing team dedicated to Off Road and Rally Raid competition. Founded in Trieste in 2025 by Fabio Samsa and Walter Ussai, it was created to build a sporting project combining expertise, ambition and an international vision.

On its debut in Italy’s premier national category, competing with a Toyota Hilux T1, BIG TEAM INN finished third overall in the Italian Cross Country Championship.

A result that is not a destination, but the foundation for the team’s international programme.

A technical and sporting collaboration bringing Rally Raid experience, specialist support and operational expertise into the BIG TEAM INN programme.

02 / THE VEHICLES

Three vehicles. One direction.

Two Toyota Hilux vehicles in the Ultimate category and an SSV T4 form the BIG TEAM INN sporting programme for the 2027 FIA European Baja Cup. Three different machines, selected for speed, long distances and constantly changing terrain.

TOYOTA HILUX T1+ V8

Power, reliability and control over long distances. An undisputed Dakar Rally benchmark for more than a decade, the Toyota Hilux T1+ V8 combines a 5.0-litre naturally aspirated engine with permanent four-wheel drive, a sequential gearbox and long-travel suspension developed for sand, rocks and broken terrain.

TOYOTA GR DKR HILUX ULTIMATE V6

The latest evolution of the Hilux project for international Rally Raid. The twin-turbo V6 delivers torque from low engine speeds, while four-wheel drive, a sequential gearbox and long-travel suspension provide performance and control across changing terrain.

SSV T4

Light, compact and agile, the SSV T4 completes the BIG TEAM INN sporting programme. Derived from a production vehicle, it is adapted to Rally Raid through dedicated work on safety, suspension, protection, range and reliability.

BIG TEAM INN brings together different experiences, united by the ambition to build a solid sporting project with the potential to grow in international Rally Raid.

FABIO SAMSA

FOUNDER AND DRIVER

Founder and director of BIG TEAM INN, Fabio Samsa built his sporting background through motocross, enduro and offshore sailing. In 2025 he entered Cross Country Rally for the first time, creating a project designed to grow beyond a single sporting appearance.

WALTER USSAI

TEAM MANAGER AND DRIVER

Responsible for the team’s operations, Walter Ussai combines motorsport experience with management expertise. His sporting background spans kayak slalom, rallying and offshore sailing. At BIG TEAM INN he serves as both Team Manager and driver, experiencing the demands of competition first-hand.

CHRISTINE GIAMPAOLI ZONCA

PERFORMANCE, ENGINEERING AND COMMUNICATION

A professional Rally and Off Road driver, Christine GZ has built her career across Europe, the United States, Mexico and the Middle East. A Motorsport Engineering graduate, she has competed in WRC, Baja, Rally Raid, Extreme E and Dakar events, bringing sporting, technical and communication expertise to the project.
